What we do

CARDIAC CATHETERIZATION

Cardiac catheterization (also called cardiac cath or coronary angiogram) is an invasive imaging procedure that tests for heart disease by allowing your doctor to see how well your heart is functioning.

CORONARY INTERVENTION

Coronary Intervention, also called percutaneous coronary angioplasty, is a procedure used to open clogged heart arteries. Angioplasty uses a tiny balloon catheter that is inserted in a blocked blood vessel to help widen it and improve blood flow to the heart. Coronary angioplasty is often combined with the placement of a small wire mesh tube called a stent. The stent helps prop the artery open, decreasing its chance of narrowing again. Most stents are coated with medication to help keep the artery open (drug-eluting stents).

PERIPHERAL ANGIOGRAPHY

Peripheral angiography is a diagnostic test that involves injecting a contrast dye through a catheter (thin tube) into the peripheral arteries. The radiologist then uses X-rays to pick up the areas where the contrast dye shows plaque buildup in the arteries.

IMPLANTABLE LOOP RECORDER

Implantable loop recorder is a type of heart-monitoring device that records your heart rhythm continuously for up to three years. It allows your doctor to remotely monitor your heartbeat while you go about your daily activities. The small device, also called a cardiac event recorder, is placed just under the skin of your chest during a minor procedure.

PACEMAKER

A Pacemaker, also called a cardiac pacing device, is a small device that's placed (implanted) in the chest to help control the heartbeat. It's used to prevent the heart from beating too slowly. Implanting a pacemaker in the chest requires a surgical procedure.

IMPLANTABLE CARDIOVERTER-DEFIBRILLATOR

An Implantable cardioverter-defibrillator, often referred to as an ICD, is a small battery-powered device placed in the chest to detect and stop irregular heartbeats (arrhythmias). An ICD continuously monitors the heartbeat and delivers electric shocks, when needed, to restore a regular heart rhythm.
